Brimming with humor and devilishly engaging characters, Victoria Vane’s A Wild Night’s Bride is a fast-paced historical romance that is delightfully steamy. To read my review in its entirety, please visit http://www.bookreviewsandmorebykathy.com/2012/04/10/1245/ ( )

I know this is novella and there is only a certain amount of room to move the 'ship along in, but insta-love is my most hated trope. The H/H were getting married within 2 days of knowing each other, and this was not a marriage-of-convenience story. Just a instant-truelove one. That being said there were enough elements to the side character, plot, and atmosphere that actually made me want to give this series another try which is kind of amazing. Just hoping that the next one doesn't use the same trope or I'll prolly be done. ( )

Lots of fun!

Victoria Vane must have lived a previous life in Georgian England. She gets the setting, the people, and the clothes just right. Most of all, though, she has the dialogue down to a tee. These people sound like they've stepped out of a novel actually written in the late 18th century.

Viscount Ludovic DeVere, the "Devil," is determined to pull his old friend Sir Edward Chambers out of the dumps. Ned has been mourning his late wife for years, but now Ned has come to London to prepare for his daughter's come out, and DeVere drags him to an orgy at the home of a famous courtesan.

Phoebe Scott has come to London to make her fortune on the stage, but she needs a sponsor to help her get the good parts. She finagles her way into the orgy, using the name Kitty Willis, and sets her sights on DeVere. But Ned, ever the gentleman, has other ideas.

Phoebe, Ned, and DeVere find themselves on an unlikely adventure that takes them literally into the George III's bed.

A Wild Night's Bride is the first of a series. Next up: Ned's daughter, less than pleased to find herself with a new, young stepmother, flounces off to London where she seeks the assistance of her godfather, the Devil DeVere, whose younger brother is on the lookout for a bride to join him in a nice, quiet life in the country. I strongly suspect that hijinks will ensue.

Many thanks to Victoria Vane for offering me an advance read of this story in return for an honest review. ( )

A bit of a stretch to be believeable but so well researched that it almost could be. Phoebe is a young unemployed actress looking for a protector. Ned is a recovering broken hearted widower. With a nudge here and there from best friend De Vere, Ned finds his next true love, behind a mask at an orge.

Hot, fun and a delightful quick read. ( )

Review:

"A Wild Night's Bride" by Victoria Vane was a fun, erotic and sexy short quick read with a good plot. I can not put it any other way...maybe adding some historical romance. Let me say first that this novel is for the mature audience. I was even found to laugh out loud many times throughout this novel. You will find there are three characters...Phoebe, Ned and DeVere that will keep you very well entertained turning the pages to see what was going on next and omg that sex scene between the two being so sizzling hot. Now, I know you are probably wondering just what all this is about...and all I can say is it was because of DeVere, that all of this happened...what happened...well, you will have to pick up "A Wild Night's Bride" to find out just what 'The Devil Devere' has done.

You will find that this author has a unique writing style that will balance all of the sexiness and humor to give the reader a well written read and yes, I would recommend "A Wild Night's Bride" as a excellent read. ( )
