Enjoyable biography of Bess Truman giving insight to the private life of the wife of a prominent political figure. ( ) Margaret Truman's biography of her mother, Bess Truman. It was interesting to read about Bess from a much closer standpoint. She appears to have been fairly reclusive, so you don't read much about her in biographies, but a biography from the daughter who lived with her had a lot of insights that someone else wouldn't have had. Sometimes her personal asides were a little distracting, and having stated at the beginning of the book that she would refer to her mother as "Bess" and then kept switching between "Mother" and "Bess" was also distracting, but overall a good biography. no reviews | add a review
