The sixth installment in the Joseph O'Loughlin series. Joe and Ruiz become involved in the investigation into the disappearance of Natasha and Piper, two 15-year-olds who went missing three years ago. The plot is very disturbing, delving into the abduction and abuse of the two girls, and the psychology of this behavior. I was shocked but could not put the book down. ( )

I'm not even sure how I came across this one. It must have been a Kindle Daily Deal. Anyway, I really liked this author's style and the story kept me interested. Of course I tend to be a sucker for any story where the main character is a psychologist or the like (gee, wonder why?) but it's not always done well. My biggest dislike about it wasn't anything to do with the story itself. The author lives in Australia and when I attempted to find the other books in this series, the first one is either not in print or not in print in this country. Sigh. It isn't necessary to read the others before this one but I want to since I liked it. ( )

Two minor girls go missing? The police investigate and give up hope assuming that they have run away. But then two murders lead to reopening the missing girls case. Do they ever get back home ? Or are they even alive? This book is a page Turner. Cannot stop reading, loved it! ( )

TWO MISSING GIRLS. TWO BRUTAL MURDERS. ALL CONNECTED TO ONE FARM HOUSE. WHO IS TO BLAME? When pretty and popular teenagers Piper Hadley and Tash McBain disappear one Sunday morning, the investigation captivates a nation but the girls are never found. Three years later, during the worst blizzard in a century, a husband and wife are brutally killed in the farmhouse where Tash McBain once lived. A suspect is in custody, a troubled young man who can hear voices and claims that he saw a girl that night being chased by a snowman. Convinced that Piper or Tash might still be alive, clinical psychologist Joe O'Loughlin and ex-cop Vincent Ruiz, persuade the police to re-open the investigation. But they are racing against time to save the girls from someone with an evil, calculating and twisted mind... ( )

One of the best in the series, so far....page-turner, good suspense and mystery, love the psychological insight provided via psychologist Joe O'Loughlin's character. Great series.... ( )
