The fifth Arthur book. The art has continued to evolve, and by this point Arthur should look quite familiar to viewers of the TV series. The story is that Arthur goes to camp, is sure that he will hate it--does hate it--but, in the end, he accidentally wins a scavenger hunt for his team, and decides he loves camp. It's meant to be funny, I guess, but it doesn't work for me, and the story's not very interesting. Much boys vs. girls, followed by a new antagonist: an entire camp of villains. Not to my taste.
Arthur and his friends go to summer camp and he's homesick and wants to go home. There are little letters home to his parents throughout the book saying he's homesick and wants to go home -please come get him. Finally, he says he's not waiting any longer he thinks he remembers the way home. Good book for parent and child to share together. The book is colorful, well illustrated and interesting to look at. The letters home are cute and the end of the story what happens to make Arthur like camp is funny.
I can remember when Arthur was just a book character and not a TV show. I used to own a copy of this book many years ago (the only Arthur book I actually owned).
It's a cute summer camp story - though looking back on it, I can't say I like the whole "girls trashing boys" in every competition they had. Don't worry; it gets better in the end but you'll have to read for yourself to find out what happens.

Arthur Goes to Camp is about Arthur's experience going to camp. Arthur hates camp and begs him mom to come and get him. He is being scared every night by what he believes is the girls. Until one night when the guys and girls are around a campfire and hear the camp next to there campers trying to scare them. Arthur decides to run away. But during the scavenger hunt Arthur turns his flashlight on when trying to run away and his camp wins the scavenger hunt.
This would be a fun book to show the students all the different things you can do while camping! I enjoy this book!
Arthur goes to camp and does not like it. He writes letters home telling his parents that he does not like it. He decides to go home but gets lost in the woods. He ends up back at camp with the last item his team needs for the scavenger hunt.
Arthur goes to Camp Meadowcroak. At first he hates it and is very homesick, but things change after the scavenger hunt.
