An attempt to explain to children how a symphonic orchestra works, under a guise of Aliceness. Though it has its moments, it's way too didactic and has way too little fun to qualify as a good "alternative Alice".
I own a first edition of this book and even though the plot doesn't make a whole lot of sense, it's still one of the gems of my collection.
A musical pastiche of Alice in Wonderland, probably to best appreciate it you would have to know something about music.
