This is my all time favorite book. Christine is lost and alone and being chased for an inheritance that she doesn't want. She ends up in Baxter where she finds a job, love, and God. The threat of her past is always just aound the corner and even Christine doesn't know how close. The book is set in 1887 and whenever I read it I get completly immersed in the time and life of these characters.
Lost and found in love, life, and Christ. That is definitely what this book is all about. This book makes me feel like a hopeless romantic, but at the same time so grateful for what I have. I really have not yet read a book by Lori Wick that I didn't like. I'm now off to find the sequel to this one.

An old favorite that I always like revisiting, despite the head-hopping.
