Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac, Volume 1

This was a hard one to find, but I uncovered volume 1 of Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac by Masami Kurumada in a local bookstore. At a $7.95 price point and having been wanting to read it, I couldn't pass it up. It is older, from 1986, but I was surprised that I couldn't find volume 1 in a library. It is shonen/action and the art reminds me of Rumiko Takahashi's work. The story is pretty interesting with different warriors with guardian constellations and in this volume they are having a tournament put on by a wealthy sport-loving guy's grandfather. There aren't any guys I would label hot and so far no cute animals either. However, I already have volume 2 sitting over there on my read pile from the library.

This was so ridiculous and odd it was funny. I think part of the problem was the translations, but the whole premise is just so convoluted. I think I'll leave this to the 10 year old boys, lol.
