What a book! Just finished reading THE SHORT STRANGE LIFE OF HERSCHEL GRYNSZPAN: A BOY AVENGER, A NAZI DIPLOMAT, AND A MURDER IN PARIS by Jonathan Kirsch about an important event in history that has been ignored until Kirsch brings it back to dramatic life with all of its mysterious turns and twists that read like a page-turning novel.

Heavy handed retelling of a tragic story. This account is hardly "untold" as the back asserts but is, rather, a well-known incident (and subject of another book) about a young man who kills a Nazi as a protest for what's happening to the Jews of Europe.
Unfortunately, the author becomes bogged down in details, writes overly long sentences and asserts his opinion about completely irrelevant issues (like gun owners' attitudes to customers). ( )
