The 'hero' of A Spanish Bride. This deals with his military career up until his last posting in South Africa, including the Peninsular War and Waterloo. He's actually from near me and is buried in his home town of Whittlesey.

Recommended.
An amazing career and wife, truly a book not to be missed by any British Napoleonic buff, good detail on the Pennisular War and post-Waterloo. Did another volume ever get published about his time in South Africa and the naming of Ladysmith after his wife.
