Margo invites 10 friends for her birthday dinner. 9 of them are perfectly normal, and the 10th is persistently... different. HE shows up an hour early. HE wants to play, instead of tag or hide-and-seek, "Double dirty no-hands blindfolded marbles". HE wears his halloween costume when everybody else is in the normal range of party clothes.
But he's the one who stays to help wash the dishes, too :)
I'm not sure why this is one of my favorites, but it sure is.

The story is about a little girl having a birthday party and she invites her ten friends. It talks about the all the activities that they do and how one of the guests is just a little bit different than the others. At the end of the book it shoes that even the kids that stands out the most can be just as worthy of a friend as the others.

A girl has a dinner party, most of the guests wear, eat and bring pretty normal things. Except for one who shows up in a devil costume and remains "odd" throughout the whole party.
A child invite 10 children to her party, but one child is always doing something a little differently.

Out of all of the children at the birthday party, there's one child who seems to stand out during every activity.
