As usual, this book is just a bit of nonsense, very over-the-top. That's what makes it so hysterical. 200 kids? 200 birthday cakes, 200 presents, 200 pizzas? Kids on the roof? Munsch eschews subtle in exchange for hilarious.
And as usual, the book features a diverse cast, which is always nice.

Robert Munsch’s El cumpleaños de Moira is illustrated by Michael Martchenko. It is a zany story about a little girl, Moira, who has a birthday party. Everyone wants to go to her party and, for some reason, every one brings their own cakes, pizzas, sandwiches, etc., so that there is way too much food and way too many gifts. In spite of the surplus, everyone at the party consumes the food fast and leaves a huge mess for Moira’s parents to clean.
This is a fun book with a good sense of humor. Moira wants to have the best birthday party she can, but she accidentally invites too many people & her birthday party turns out to be... Well not how Moira planned!
*blinks a lot*
I should never have studied economics. Not even a little bit. I simultaneously love this and am utterly appalled.

This one is a must-read when any of the kids has a birthday, they love this book.
February of 2011 this was a favorite (20 months).
Moira wants to invite everyone to her birthday party but her parents tell her no. Only six. Well she invites a little more than that..
