Summary: Nate is a young man who wants to be a cartoonist and draws all kinds of things about his crazy school and the people in it. He finds himself being "buddies" with the all too familiar new kid, Breckinridge. Nate struggles with the fact that Breckinridge follows him everywhere when he wants to keep some things secret but the principle doesn't see it that way. In the midst of their school's 100 year celebration he finds a soft spot in him to welcome Breckinridge into his life as his friends, despite he happened to be Nate bully when they were four.

Personal Reaction: I think this is a really good book for kids to read because Nate loves drawing cartoons which some people might find lame and Breckinridge likes to read about plants show more but they are both hypocritical to one another. It can help children understand that it's not right to bash someone for doing a specific activity that person enjoys just because you don't like it. I think this is a good lesson teaching books as well as humorous.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. Make a book about your favorite thing and make it into a story.
2. Try a different student's favorite activity (classroom safe and appropriate) everyday for everyone to try and experience.
3. Have a scavenger hunt, like in the book!

This one was probably my least favorite out of the series tbh. About 35% through, I had to literally switch to the audiobook while reading it because I don’t think I would have finished it otherwise.
