Grammar treated broadly and in a 19th century way in sections on morphology and syntax, as well as a section on prosody. The sections on word derivation are pretty useful. well laid out and typeset, with a good index. clear explanations of declensions and verbs forms as well as some basic treatment of historical development. Not as detailed or, let’s face it, arcane, as Gildersleeve’s, but not as approachable or modern as Woodcock’s.
I use all three and generally find an answer i can understand in one or the other.
My copy is second hand and seems to be lightly perfumed!
