Walkabout- a rite of passage that the Australian Aborigines practiced. A person would undergo a journey during adolescence and live in the wilderness for a period of time. It is a spiritual journey an individual takes as a transition into adulthood. I came home one night to my parents furious with the decisions that I had been making. Within the next twenty-four hours I found myself stranded in the middle of the western desert of Utah with only the essentials of survival and a journal.
