Leslie Chamberlain is the Claudia Roden of Eastern European food; scholarly, thorough and entertaining. Her research is impeccable and her recipes show the common threads that run through the cuisines of Eastern Europe which have been both inaccessible and neglected for decades. A must have book for anyone interested in European food beyond the Mediterranean.
