This is a good book for a new series by the author. I really enjoyed the storyline with it’s unexpected romance and the comedy as well. The characters were great and it had you wanting to continue to read till the end. The story is about Wendy having to go back to her grandmother’s inn where she was brought up but left as soon as she could, running away from painful memories. Having to go back because of the way the grandmother’s will was written was something she dreaded. She does go back and meets a gorgeous, handsome man Max and is immediately attracted to him. But since she is only there for a month to fix up the inn to be sold, she didn’t want to be involved. As the story goes on, what you plan isn’t always going to be what happens. Sometimes things turn out for the good, even when you are fighting them. Great read and I look forward to the rest of the series. ( )

Firstly I would like to thank Netgalley & Hatco Publishing for the opportunity to receive a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
The truth is I was surprised that this book had been published in 2015, and I got it through Netgalley.
It doesn't mean that I didn't like the book, but I had some trouble with Wendy's attitude. I thought the heroine was a bit immature and somewhat of a drama queen. Everything was so emotional; she seemed to be "hurt" by everything that everybody did, whether intentional or not; I just got sort of tired of her dramatics.
Max, on the other hand, changed my mind. Somehow, this young, passionate hunk slowly entered my heart and stole my breath away. A lover of nature, a believer of legends, a man around town, a dog’s best friend, what more could a woman want? The guy was a saint with all he put up with.
I might continue with the series in the future; for now, I am taking a break. ( )

This was Romance with a capital R. Sugary sweet, but in a good way.
Wendy, the main character, is a bit obnoxious, since she tends to be unreasonable, make a bit of a scene and run away from her problems crying, but that's necessary for the story to work. ( )

As I drove down California’s scenic coastal Highway 1, a sign indicated I would hit my hometown of Blue Moon Bay in two miles and I had to fight the urge not to slam on the brakes, do a fast U-turn, and head back home to Sacramento.
