So when her mother receives a letter of a mysterious inheritance in Tuscany, Gemma sees her chance. She throws caution to the wind and the three leave for Italy. She hopes that a change of scenery will bring back the closeness she used to share with her daughter and give her mother something to worry about beyond Gemma's social life. What they encounter in Tuscany is a crumbling old show more villa and a town divided. Predictable romance story. I did enjoy the Italian scenery and lifestyle descriptions, the author excels in this area. I wanted a mindless read and that is what this book is.
Nice descriptions of the scenery and food in Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast, but otherwise, quite dreadful.
Adler writes fun romantic chick-lit. Improbable plots, but who cares. They are great for the beach or vacation anywhere
I tend to avoid romance novels. But the setting in this book sucked me in. I enjoyed the settings, the story was almost secondary. The story was good either way, I enjoyed the lack of random sex acts as in some lesser quality romance stories. Overall it was worth the couple hours of reading.
Mediocre at best. Very lousy sex scenes that were completely pointless to the plot. slow going. Very stereotypical in terms of assuming that women say make love. We don't we say sex. because that is what it is. I would give it 1.5 if that existed.
A fun book with wonderful descriptions. Decent character developments.
So-so romance about mother, daughter, grandmother finding love in Tuscany after being willed a Villa
