The first book by Desmond Bagley I read was "Vivero Letter" which was a fantastic tale of action, adventure and suspense which made me an instant fan... Then I had read a couple of his other works and the status stayed. And now, after more than ten years, I've read this one and am happy that I did. Yes, this stands not up to the standard set by the others I've read, but it does not make it dull or uninteresting. The somewhat predictable story line is compensated amply by the non stop action and engaging characters.
For me, The Spoilers was a lot of fun!

I remember enjoying this as a teenager: it might have been great, or so-so. I enjoyed it and it didn't change my life.
If you like adventure and guys fighting and doing stuff with jeeps, this could be a great book for you.

A nice in between read, a bit dated both in (translated) language as well as currencies, but still nice.
Very recourseful characters :-)

Interdicting a drug cartel's operations won't be easy, especially if you are a doctor of medicine, but when the money pays people can be found to help.
An odd blend of characters get along, until push comes to shove.
