Description
Originally published in 1966 and now recognized as a classic, Norman O. Brown's meditation on the condition of humanity and its long fall from the grace of a natural, instinctual innocence is available once more for a new generation of readers. An apocalyptic prose poem by a distinguished classics professor, who, after reading Freud and Blake, went on to become a countercultural icon in the 1960s.
this book is difficult to review -- a bunch of excerpts from other books, you have to read it to understand. Norman O Brown was a brilliant grumpy old man who probably singlehandedly changed the way a lot of people think about culture. definitely not standard issue mainstream stuff.
Eat your heart out, Deleuze and Guattari.
