Kay Crandall taught for two years at Garden State High before she moved away and got married. Now, eight years later, she is back for a school reunion. At the reunion Kay runs into an old student of hers (Donny Rubel, who was very unattractive and unpopular). She tried to help him out back then but he misread her intentions, and now he is deluded into thinking they have a future together because she happened to be kind to him all those years ago. Donny abducts Kay and takes her away to a rundown, secluded house and plans to make her his wife. Will Kay’s husband and friends be able to find her in time?

I really enjoyed this short mystery suspense story. I had a hard time putting this book down, I wanted to find out what was going to happen next. I liked the way all the students and Kay’s friends pulled together to try to help in finding her.

This was another terrific story by Mary Higgins Clark with interesting characters and tense situations. ( )
