An unusual story. The heroine wants independence and is good at business but due to the times they live in, alas no girl power she is unable to do this and on top of that she has an embarrassing broken romance.
The hero returns, he knew the heroine in childhood and they each have something to offer each other.
His business is not acceptable in all circles, she could use his help.

It honestly felt more Victorian than Regency. He has secrets that he won't reveal and she's hurt by this and they both need to stop pretending and start actually talking to each other, sigh. It is a trope I dislike but I get where it comes from and the more you don't admit to stuff the more likely you are to keep having this issue.

Still not a bad read, two characters who are good for each other and aren't part of the aristocracy. ( )
