No current Talk conversations about this book. i love the way that the buildings look in the pictures, and its kind of neat to know which building people hated so much, but now have become part of the way of life or a symbol of the country. This is children’s book about ten controversial works of architecture that have mostly become accepted as landmarks in their hometown. Some are very famous and some more obscure, albeit the architects are well known. One is near where I lived for 15 years but I never heard of it before, go figure. The book seems a little rah-rah on the architects side – which I think sets a bad example for kids – especially the pro-McDonald’s acceptance of the inevitable in the last chapter.
