Description
It's the end of second year for best mates Susan, Daisy, and Esther, and cracks are appearing in the foundation of this unshakeable trio. Between (irritating) new loves, (secretive) old loves, (unlikely) new friendships and (terrible) old houses, they'll be lucky to make it to third year alive!.Tags

In this instalment, the triad of Daisy, Esther and Susan are increasingly distracted by their adulting lives, and begin to drift apart. I gave this volume 5 stars because between the madcap adventures of the college-aged girls is the poignant struggle of women to stay together as friends even as the world demands more of them. That, and the laugh-out-loud moments ("Are you ready to take advantage of a man's terrible misfortune?" "That's why I get out of bed in the morning!") and the panels I actually had to photograph and share ("You've got some schmutz on you"). Giant days continues to entertain, move, and inspire me!
Volume 8 of the most perfect comic in existence. Lovers, housemaes, friends and the impending end of third year are all conspiring to drive the girls apart. Can the unshakeable foundations of their friendship remain unshook?
A pleasant diversion, as always, with some added dramatic heft as renewal time for the roommates' lease promises to shake up the status quo. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how it all turns out next volume.
Esther struggles when McGraw's girlfriend threatens her spot as favourite student in her Romantic literature class, Daisy continues to grapple with the realities of her relationship with Ingrid and how it affects her roommates, Susan's secret is outed, and all three girls have to figure out their living situation for their third and final year.
There's a bit more angst and conflict in this one but still utterly soothing reading. Fans of the series will not be disappointed.

Again, just when I think I can't like the next volume more than the previous one, John Allison creates something beautiful - again! This is the end of sophomore year, and the girls are having some difficulties. Love McGraw even more with some of his back story included in this volume. There is somewhat of a cliffhanger at the end that leaves you wondering and worriying what will happen to each character in the upcoming issues...
These books always make me laugh out loud. I loved everything about Volume 8 except for the cliffhanger. I need to know my girls will be OK!
This book had so many laugh-out-loud moments. The bits with McGraw vs. the landlord had me in stitches. I'm going to need more of these, soon.
