No current Talk conversations about this book. *I got this book for review from the publisher for my honest thoughts* I enjoyed this book. I found it to be super cute and loved how the author not only made this adventure story but also taught kids about various locations throughout the world. I really enjoyed the lead characters and there is adorable dog involved. I thought the plot was predictable at points but I think middle grade and especially younger readers will love it. I read this book in a about a day and found it to super fast read. I will def. be checking out book two in this series. Narrated by Kathleen McInerney. Samantha's eccentric but beloved Uncle Paul has disappeared, leaving $2 billion to her older sister Buffy, the deed to Yankee Stadium and the Yankee players' contracts to younger brother Nipper, and an old umbrella to Samantha. It turns out the umbrella's interior is a wide-ranging map of illustrations providing clues that could lead to Uncle Paul. Samantha and Nipper find themselves traveling from Seattle to Europe and back on a secret, high-speed magnetic train, pursued by foul-smelling ninjas bent on stealing the umbrella. A good deal of suspension of belief is required as this adventure unfolds but young readers will enjoy the imaginative hijinks. McInerney's youthful voice befits this caper, performing an assortment of accents and voices, young and old. no reviews | add a review
