From #1 NYT bestselling author Lauren Blakely comes a sexy new standalone romance! The first time I met him, his sexy British accent almost talked me into giving him my number on the spot. The second time, he nearly charmed the panties off me with his wit. Then I learned he's the key to success in my new job in Paris. The man who tempts me into fling-worthy dirty daydreams has turned out to be my personal translator, and his accent is the hottest thing I've ever heard. My mantra is simple -- Don't mix business with pleasure. I do my best to resist him as he teaches me how to converse with my co-workers, navigate the metro and order the perfect bottle of wine at dinner. But I also figure out how to tell the charming and clever man what I most want to say -- that I want him to take me back to his flat -- tonight. Except there's a catch... *** One more assignment before I take off on my big adventure... And it involves the toughest work ever -- resisting the fetching American woman I spend all my days with. But you know what they say about best intentions. Soon, we're spending our nights tangled together, and I don't want to let her go. The trouble is, my wanderlust is calling to me, and before we know it I'll be traveling the globe to fulfill a promise I made long ago. What could possibly go wrong with falling in love in Paris? Nothing...unless one of you is leaving.… (more)

Cute contemporary romance about Joy, a perfume chemist who moves to Paris for work, and falls for her assigned translator, British ex-pat Griffin. I’ve enjoyed watching the evolution of Blakley’s work, and this romance hit a lot of really great notes. Joy wants a fresh start, and doesn’t want to compromise for anyone. Griffin is insistent on living in Paris only long enough to finish ticking off the steps on his brother’s bucket list. When they fall for each other, they have to decide if geography or love will win out. Cute and light.

I listened to the book on audio and it was a delight. With both a male and female narrator alternating chapters we see the story of an American woman who falls in love with Paris and her British translator at the same time.
The characters are a delight and the story makes you want to discover Paris for yourself and the Happily Ever After makes the whole story worth it. ( )

Not really my cup of tea, but got the audio book because I love Richard Armitage as a narrator. He did a reasonably good job, but there's just not as much scope here as in, say, David Copperfield where he gets to do loads of different voices. He does do really well with the woman's voice though. Instantly recognisable as feminine, with the American accent and everything. The female narrator however, does a terrible job of the male voice. It bugged me so much I almost didn't finish the book. In the end I persevered, and it all ends pretty much as expected... no surprises here.

If this kind of book is your thing, and you find predictability comforting, you could probably find worse out there... ( )

Richard Armitage gets 5 stars for narrating ofc however there were some things I didn't really care for so it is a 2 star read ( )

Lauren Blakely is a master. All she needs is a pen and paper to set my imagination ablaze. Wanderlust is a bit old time Hollywood with modern day adventure. Joy and Griffin take readers on an escapade fueled by beautiful scenery, sexy banter and a passionate attraction that sets the pages on fire. For Joy a change of scenery lands her in over her head. She came to Paris to find herself and may end up leaving her heart behind. Griffin is every woman's fantasy. The look, accent and attitude are enough to steal your breath, but the way he treats Joy is hard to resist. ( )
