Magpie does not realize that she is right in the middle of the race for flight until she must help a young boy who goes up in a strange balloon like device. She is one of the best thieves in Paris and just a girl on the streets trying to stay alive. Her chance encounter with the boy, whose name is Pierre Montgolfier leaves her wanting more in life than to just be a petty thief. She sets out to help them in their quest to be the first ones to discover the secret of flight before the English and impress the King and Queen of France. I would recommend this for any collection. Magpie is a strong female character that proves that she is not just a girl. ( ) no reviews | add a review
