Explore the world of food as What's On Your Plate? takes you on a journey through fourteen different countries and their food. With a recipe for each country, children can not only learn about culture, but how to view that culture through the food.

---

I absolutely love this non-fiction book. Each country includes a little bit of history about the country and why the food there is the way it is. With this said, I think students can learn a little bit about other countries, while learning about food. I like how this is not a food book that focuses solely on children eating healthy, but instead gives them different cultural options to choose from. The mix of illustrations and photographs works really well for this nonfiction text, and is bound to draw children in.

The only negative I can see of this book is that the text is kind of jumbled, and difficult to focus on.
