Our heroine and her increasingly powerful AI manage to start tracking these survivors through a "rogue" one called Kane. Good job he's trustworthy.

IN quite a well done departure from the previous volume, which was all about Roche gathering a band of allies together and using their powers to overcome obstacles, here the allies are neutralized fairly early on and it's just Roches' acumen and negotiating ability left to keep them alive.
After receiving their nominal freedom from COE Intelligence the team hed to the Palasian System where the next confirmed sighting of a Wonderkind has occurred. However they can't find show more the system! In a very dramatic move the whole solar system has been jumped into a temporary hyperspace Gauntlet, in order to contain the rampant Wonderkind within. Roche takes her ship across the threshold and so becomes the target of everybody left alive there. All of whom need her ship's abilities to escape before the system collapses. show less
