Krause did a good job of describing the way a small child feels when they have reached the age that they have to face their fear of the dark and bullies. His use of the dragon to illustrate this last fear was quite brilliant in my opinion. what better way to make a child feel less self-conscious about being afraid than to show them a dragon that is also afraid. This also lends confidence when it is the boy who helps the giant dragon to find a way to solve its problem. In the end, it is their mutual respect for each other that allows them to overcome their fears. We could learn a thing or two from this story. no reviews | add a review
