This is a fun, silly book that is easy to get lost in. Lulu Dark is a young, hip high school in Halo City. Everything in her life is going well. Then her purse gets stolen. Lulu takes it upon herself to recover the purse, which leads to deeper and darker secrets. The book has a light tone that belies some of its topics. At its heart, this is a book about Lulu discovering what's important about her and about friendship.

This was a pretty easy read and fun! There were a few aspects of the characters that I didn't like, but it was an interesting read. The story was kinda silly, but very fun!
A disappointing chick-lit teenage mystery. The narrator/heroine is, well, she can only be described as a bitch. She (and a lot of the other characters) have little or no redeeming features. All they care about is being "hip" and putting others down. They're the kind of girls you hated in high school, and it just seems pointless to read about them when you don't even like them. The mystery is dumb, too.
Paris Hilton meets Nancy Drew; rich kids; girl's purse and identity get stolen and classmate goes missing; Lulu and friends sleuth around. Minor romance developing b/t Lulu and her guy friend.
cute, fun, light, perfect for a lazy summer day
Lulu Dark's purse has been stolen. She LOVES that purse, and she is going to get it back. She thinks Berlin Silver has it - then she thinks Berlin Silver is dead. Meanwhile, someone pretending to be Lulu is partying her way around town and getting quite the (wrong) reputation.
Lulu does not consider herself to be a detective, that's so childish. But when a girl she knows steals her purse and then goes missing, she decides to investigate.
