Enjoyed this one. Interesting main characters and a good storyline, well written and a good lead to the series. Looking forward to the next book.
Good characters and interesting crime plot, and good writing. But this reads like an early draft, yet to be filled in with character development. The character development and backstory are blocked in but not really built out.
On a New York City rooftop, a sniper waits for the right moment, the moment to fire one shot at his target. Two people come together to try and solve the crime, one a crime reporter, Jane Cole, and the other a suspended NYPD cop Robert Warren. Suspended because of a story Cole wrote.
The first novella of a nine series story.
A well-written and interesting story, with the characters thankfully growing on you.
I usually don't enjoy knowing who committed the crime from the outset; I usually don't enjoy mystery solving that doesn't give me enough clues to speculate about who it was that committed the crime. This story had elements of both, but I thoroughly enjoyed this story because I liked the amount of character the author put into the characters.
Cole and Warren are an interesting pair and the storyline was fast-paced and authentic. I liked it but was disappointed when it ended in the middle of the story. I didn't realize it was a novella. I guess Episode 1, should have been my clue. I will probably go on to the next book to see where these two characters wind up.
