Christian Nonfiction. Religion & Spirituality. Self-Improvement. Nonfiction. HTML:Debbie Macomber calls KNIT TOGETHER
the project of her heart.
Whenever she speaks, her theme is
simple: don't be afraid to dream. God
created us for a reason, and when we
come to recognize our deepest longing,
we can discover His plan for our
lives. Full of encouragement and
divine empowerment for women,
the book centers around the Bible's
assurance that God knits each one of
us together in our mother's womb.
Debbie deftly weaves her own story
throughout the book, using the knitting
theme of her most recent bestsellers to create metaphors
that explore God's handiwork in creating us for a purpose.

This is the third non-fiction, faith-based book I've read by Debbie Macomber, although it was the first she'd written in this genre. I liked her other two, so when I saw this at the library I figured it would be good - and it was. Whether or not you feel the need to make a plan to follow your dreams, the book provides a blueprint for being successful that is helpful for anyone. It's motivational and offers a spiritual perspective. Easy to read, warm and friendly, with valuable advice. ( )

I almost put this audiobook down after a couple chapters because it appeals highly to mother homemakers... Which is not me at all. But I kept listening and I'm glad I did because it is quite inspirational. It's mostly stuff you know inside, but good to hear again and again. ( )

Best-selling author, Debbie Macomber, comes across as an engaging everyday woman in Knit Together. Each chapter focuses on particular reasons that we were created: purpose, dreams, success, relationships, laughter, etc. Debbie shares her own story throughout the book. I found the insights on goal-setting and journal-keeping particularly helpful. The chapter on laughter had me in stitches. Okay, if you were outside my room, you may have heard a gleeful cackle or two. Easy read, highly recommended. ( )

Epigraph
O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
