She will be reunited with her precious children, no matter what it takes. Meanwhile, Liesl and Erich have found a home in Ireland away from the chaos of war-ravaged Europe. Like all of the other children who escaped Nazi territory on the Kindertransport, they must wait to hear the fate of their loved ones. For their foster parents, Elizabeth and Daniel, their dearest wish, that Ariella would survive the war, is also their deepest fear. Would her return mean the loss of the children they have come to think of as their own? As the Third Reich crumbles under relentless Allied bombs, Ariella is careful, but Berlin is a very dangerous place to be, and somebody knows she survived. Can she take one last enormous risk to be reunited with Liesl and Erich or will her betrayer see her finally captured? show lessTags

This is the second book of the Star and Shamrock series. WWII continues, and the book follows the children and Elizabeth in Ireland and Ariella in Germany from the end of the war to Ariella's leaving Germany. I enjoyed reading more about the characters. Everything seems to work out perfectly for everyone, which is somewhat unbelievable but still makes for an enjoyable read.
Good sequel to the Star and the Shamrock continuing the story of Ariela, Elizabeth, Liesl, Erich and Daniel, and many others.
Many people survived the deprivation, hate and violence of WWII because of good, courageous and caring efforts of individuals providing small and large instances of help.
Beautiful and engaging story.

I read "The Star and the Shamrock" four years ago, so it took me a while to remember what had happened and connect it with what was going on here. Although the chapters in Northern Ireland were good, the chapters in Germany were more exciting and held my interest more.
I did enjoy the book and although I started book 2 in this series, it seemed fine as a stand-alone book. I was not very invested in the children of the story so I will not go on with book three in the series.

Eric and Liesl settle in in the village in Northern Ireland, and their Mother goes into hiding in Berlin, but all ends well
