Talia Hibbert can freakin' write and her dialouge!! i'm so sad to see this series come to an end.. i fell in love with both Eve and Jacob very quickly. our hero is a lovable grump and our heroine is a sarcastic mess. but underneath the grumpiness lies someone who’s deeply insecure due to his upbringing and underneath the irresponsible behavior lies a woman who’s quite unsure about who she is and fears failure. the main reason why the enemies-to-lovers trope works so well is the banter. Jacob and Eve are never enemies in the literal sense. the fact that they’re attracted to each other hinders the full-blown hate. this book brought me so much happiness and i found myself smiling and giggling while reading their banter and honestly show more their chemistry leapt off of every single page. Jacob is by far my favorite of all three of the heroes show less
The youngest Brown sister is getting kicked out of the nest at age 26: her loving parents are cutting her off financially until she can hold a job for a year. Furious, Eve drives away, and when she stops in a small town, she sees that a B&B is interviewing chefs, so she walks in. Castell Cottage owner/manager Jacob is highly controlled and doesn't want to hire flighty Eve - but after she accidentally hits him with her car, she stays to help, and their chemistry is undeniable. But Eve is trying to be a Responsible Adult, and responsible adults don't sleep with their bosses.
This steamy romance features two neurodiverse characters (on the autism spectrum), a charming B&B, a loving (if interfering) family, and less manufactured conflict show more keeping the two leads apart. Perfect! show less

Eve has had a lot of great career aspirations, but somehow they haven't panned out to her satisfaction, causing her repeatedly to abandon them in search of the next great idea. It feels like everyone else in her life has discovered their life's purpose...except her. While on an aimless drive to sort out her thoughts about her future, she finds herself in a charming little town outside the Castell Cottage B&B — a B&B that is looking for a chef. Convinced she has nothing to lose, Eve confidently enters intending to wow the owner with her cooking skills, but is unprepared for the handsome but cranky proprietor standing before her.
It's a romance novel so we all know where this is going, and the journey is pretty fun. There are one or two show more instances of slightly awkwardly contrived circumstances intended either to drive the couple together or push them apart, but on the whole I appreciated this smart, funny novel (though of the trilogy, Get a Life, Chloe Brown still takes the cake, no pun intended). In fiction, as in real life, it is heartwarming to watch someone discover what they're really passionate about. show less

I was melting by the end of this from the absolute sweetness of the characters, the aspect of Hibbert’s writing I like most in the two books of hers I’ve read. I love these lovebirds and all their baggage, their kindness toward one another, and their resolve to work through their issues and live their best lives. In both this book and Get a Life, Chloe Brown, I appreciated the uniqueness of the protagonists and the joy of getting to know them as the author peeled back the layers.
As with the first book I read, I was uncomfortable with how coarse and blunt the language was when things got steamy, and I must say the sex scenes and sex talk were my least favorite parts of this book. I don’t know if I’m show more too American not to be a little scandalized by the language, too old, or too prudish. Whatever the case, I suspect this will be the same issue I have with the second book—the one I skipped to read this one—whenever I read it, but I like this family so much and the way the author writes the characters, that I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to resist. show less

Eve Brown has had a hard time finding herself as an adult. She's had a series of jobs that never lasted long, which is why her parents have told her that they're cutting off her trust-fund access until she has held down a single job for a year. After that emotional interaction, Eve ends up driving aimlessly and finds herself at a B&B in the Lake District where they're serendipitously hiring for a chef. The fact that the owner, Jacob Wayne, immediately takes a dislike to Eve's impulse arrival ultimately doesn't matter when Eve accidentally injures him and ends up with the job to help him out. As Jacob and Eve work together, they'll quickly learn they have more in common than they thought and that beneath all their bickering there is the show more possibility for a very steamy connection.
It took me a bit to warm up to this novel. I didn't initially find Eve very sympathetic and while a sympathetic lead isn't always a requirement, it is for me for a romance novel. However, Eve and Jacob won me over and I was ultimately really pleased with how they grew as characters, how their relationship developed, and the final resolution for it (along with a couple peeks at how the other Brown sisters were doing in their relationships). Recommended for fans of the previous two books in the trilogy. show less

GAH! Every Brown sister book I read I say this one is my favorite. But I really think I mean it this time. This utterly adorable and perfect book had me crying and laughing and nodding my head in agreement. I love this family, I love these sisters and I love their men. I would also very much like a spin-off with Mont, Alex and Tessa now.
I truly believe that this trilogy is the best contemporary romance trilogy I have ever read. As my friend so eloquently put it "I'm basically ruined."
I think I'm still Zaf for life though. I think...

This book was delightful!
Eve is a high energy, caring, and loud tornado compared to Jacob who is calm and orderly. They were the perfect sunshine grumpy (but deep down sweet and caring) dynamic. This made for fantastic banter that made me laugh along with them. I enjoyed the emotions and how Jacob and Eve explored their anxieties and past traumas. I absolutely loved the small part with all three waiters with Zaf and Red. It was nice to see how they all would interact with each other after meeting the partners in the past two books. This book was wonderful, fluffy, and had some secretly steamy parts I wasn’t expecting.
Also, I highly recommend listening to the Eve Brown playlist on Spotify! It made me feel closer to the book :)
