An excellent book. The Erik Blegvad illustrations are as endearing as the Garth Williams illustrations. The rescuees are almost unknown to the reader, even at the very end of the book, in fact, one of them lacks a name. The setting, the "orient", is actually some kind of imaginary India, and probably a bad choice. But Miss Bianca is as delicate, courteous, courageous, and resourceful as ever.
