This informational storybook covers the short life of the original Pennsylvania Station in New York City. The author was born and raised in New York City, and completed a thesis on the subject in graduate school. A bibliography follows the text, and Low presents the material against a backdrop of illustrations the bring the place to life. The linear presentation of the history of Penn Station is easy to digest and lends well for read alouds. The author imbues the story with his passion for both New York City and the landmarks that are "the heart and soul of all great cities". This book is a definite for art libraries looking to reach younger audiences. ( )
