* I got this book for review for the publisher for my honest thoughts*

I enjoyed this read. I loved contempoary reads that might have magic twist. I though the main character was a fun character and her backstory made her super easy to read from. I also thought the mytery elements and the pacing of the books was strong. I thought some of the murders were a bit predictable but still a really engaging read. I also did not see the end coming and that was def my favorite part. A fun read, but does deal with harder topics like grief and was a super fast pace read! ( )

Audiobook: This was in the goodreads Horror recommendations for Oct. so I gave it a try. It wasn't horror, IMHO. I'd call is suspense, very light horror, YA. The characters were well drawn out, fit well in the story and acted like someone their age would. 17-18 year olI admit I was disappointed in the beginning, she was such a HS girl, and I'm over interest that stage in life 100%. I stayed with it, some part of the story intrigued me, the mystery. As I kept listening I got more invested in these characters lives, enjoying the story more. I really didn't see the twisted ending coming, which is always nice. I liked it enough to download another book from this author.
If you want to know about the story read the blurb. ( )
