A project to create a comic a day representing the author's life three years into transition. This is very slice of life in that there are of course no planned story arcs and it ends up disjointed like life is disjointed, but after a brief moment of irritation I found it charming for exactly that reason. Life isn't about neat progress and unbroken arcs. There are days where Julia is amazed at how far she has come, days she is in love with her community and the life she has built, and days where someone misgendering her shakes her to her core, days she deals with heartbreak, with unsupportive family, with self-doubt. An incredibly unique look into trans life.
A nice follow-up visit with a fascinating and charming woman. I hope a third book will be forthcoming.
