Autumn Reid is in a rut. At nearly thirty years old, she hasn't ventured outside her sleepy Georgia town of Covey Crossing. When her father sees an ad for a new dating show, Forever After, she jumps on the chance. It's a dating show with a twist, featuring a vampire bachelor. Sure, the winner gets the choice of cash or immortality, but Autumn doesn't expect to make it that far. She just needs a shakeup, something outside of the box instead of the same four walls she's grown up in. She show more certainly doesn't expect the infuriatingly handsome vampire duke. Oliver Gray is an impoverished duke who desperately needs money to save his estate. When he's offered the chance to become the bachelor on Forever After, he accepts. There's a catch-he has to wear Victorian clothing from the era during which he turned. Fine. He could don one more top hat. What he struggles to figure out is the alluring human with a smart mouth. But he can't seem to send her home, especially after he realizes she's his mate. Love isn't the only plot twist on Forever After. Contestants are being murdered one by one, and a vampire is to blame. Who's killing off the contestants, and better yet, why? Oliver and Autumn's dreams of forever after are cut short when the killer decides Autumn's next. Find out what happens on the next episode of Forever After. show lessTags

Here's how my thoughts on this book progressed (it was kind of humorous to experience, which is why I share): oh, okay, this is a little silly; the snark! I love the snark!; wait--a mystery? *intrigued eyes*; *meets Emily and Thomas and is now 10000% committed to the story*
Yup. So, this book was a joy. It's silly, yeah--vampire reality tv show, right? But it knows that the idea is silly and runs with it. Oliver was so much fun. I loved *every single* part from him POV. I get why it wasn't solely his POV, but that would have been wonderful, too. Autumn was fun. I love that she knew her limits and wrestled with her expectations of herself. The whole book was just a delight. I highly recommend it if you'd like a contemporary vampire show more fantasy romance with a dash of pining historical nuance. show less

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. The reading actually flowed faster and easier than I had anticipated. I enjoyed the mix of contestants - humans, werewolves and other vampires. The manipulations by the people running the show were unpleasant but probably more authentic in the reality shows many now watch. Usually manipulated to some extent. The interactions of the two main characters was enjoyable , others in pretty destructive ways. I'm thinking there should have been more accountability for Max for his actions but maybe that happened anyway. I liked that even though Oliver knew he'd found his mate, he left the decision for their future up to her - a true gentleman. I liked other little creatures too but don't want to give away any spoilers. (edit)
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Forever After is a truly unique romance about a human woman and a vampire who meet on a reality dating show. Oliver needs to participate in the show to get money to save his family estate and Autumn is looking to find adventure and step out of her comfort zone. Neither is convinced that they will truly find love.
I really enjoyed this book. It has been a long time since I've read a vampire or paranormal romance. I had gotten tired of them. I'll say again that I was pleasantly surprised with how unique and different this story was. The writing was good and full of witty humor and even some tense suspenseful moments. I was never bored reading it and the characters were very believable.
My sincere thanks to Ashley R. King for giving me the show more opportunity to read this book and give my unbiased opinion of it. A solid 4 stars from me. show less

“Pretty faces could mask a lot of ugliness.”
“Do no harm, take no shit.”
4/5 stars ⭐️! Twilight meets The Bachelor. Really enjoyed this slow burn story. Loved that the chapters switched POVs, as well as the confessionals in between. Autumn’s thoughts were adorable and relatable; her referring to Oliver as “Mr. Masterpiece Classic” was perfect. At times the plot seemed predictable; however, the identity of the murderer did come as a surprise. I felt like that major plot point did not get enough time or attention, but otherwise would recommend this book!

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. What a fun, completely quirky paranormal romance!
Going into Forever After, I had no idea what to expect. I'd almost say this book has a rom-com feel, mixed with vampires and other things that go bump in the night. The dating television show was a unique plot setting for the story and I enjoyed seeing how it all played out. Autumn and Oliver were fantastic together, great enemies to lovers/fated mates trope.
I will say though, I felt like the romance aspect was the best part of the book, which is most likely what you're reading this book for anyway. The murder/mystery aspect just felt unnecessarily thrown in and it seemed like a lot of details were glazed over or characters reactions seemed dulled down for one reason or another. The show more dialogue was a bit clunky in places and I couldn't connect to Oliver's character until a good way through the book which was a bummer since I loved Autumn so much from the get go.
Overall, I did enjoy this book! It was a quickly-paced, sometimes silly story and if you're looking for something to enjoy for an evening or two, I recommend giving this book a try :)

Forever After is the first book in the Vampire Reality Show series by Ashley R. King.
Plot:
Autumn has spent her entire life in her hometown where she works as the librarian. She needs a change, so when the bachelor-style reality show Forever After, where the eligible bachelor happens to be a vampire, comes to her town, she applies as a contestant - and makes the cut. The show is about to start shooting when Autumn runs into the bachelor, Oliver. Sparks immediately fly - but they are sparks of dislike. Still, Autumn is determined to stick to her decision and have as much fun as she can. Meanwhile Oliver, who decided to do the show to save his family estate in England, tries his best to get into the spirit of the show at all. When the show show more starts spinning out of control and people turn up dead, Autumn and Oliver try to figure everything out together.
Forever After is a fun, quick read that didn't quite blow me away but kept me entertained enough. I'm not sure if I will seek out the rest of the series once it comes out, but I definitely didn't mind reading this one.

Forever After is a Vampire supernatural story that follows Autumn Reid. She is a very closed person and decides to step out of her comfort zone by signing up to a new dating reality show.
Oliver Gray, is the eligible bachelor and is in desperate need of money to save his estate.
There are lots of Twists especially when a killer takes out the contestants one-by-one. As the show's finale nears, will they get their forever happily-ever-after?
This book was a great read, The characters were great and developed well, which made the pacing of the story flow and made me wanting more.
I loved the slow burn of the romance and the mystery of the story. It was enough to keep me show more guessing where the story and characters would lead.
I would highly recommend this novel if you’re a fan of vampire romances, banter and slow burn romances.
I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series show less
