This was a really interesting book! I liked the main characters and the setting very much! The author really described Alaska, so much so that I could picture myself being there.
Dodge hasn't been home in 5 years due to a family fight. He comes home to help his dad recuperate from an accident. Echo. Dodge's former love has settled into her life in Alaska. She has her future all set until Dodge shows up. She sets out to find a fellow researcher and danger haunts her. Dodge follows his heart and tracks Echo down. Can they find forgiveness? Read the book to find out! You won't be disappointed! ( )

Dodge Kingston returns to his Alaskan home to care for his ailing father. It’s been ten long years since he left with a broken heart and a broken family. Echo Yazzie, the woman who turned down his proposal of marriage, has never left. She loves Alaska and the wilderness but it has wreaked havoc with her own family; her mother, unable to cope with the isolation, abandoned her and her father.
Susan May Warren has crafted an emotional romance in a majestic setting. She beautifully describes the Alaskan landscape and the creatures that inhabit it. I really enjoyed her descriptive narrative, which made this hot-weather Texas gal want to travel there myself!
More than just a romance, Warren explores family dynamics in both Dodge and Echo’s relationships with siblings and parents. There are themes of forgiveness, healing, and Christianity. The story also holds plenty of action and adventure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
I recommend this to readers who enjoy a wholesome, clean romance with plenty of action and thrills. ( )

An adventure through Alaska, hurt, forgiveness, and love all in one. I could have kept reading. Danger abounds. Bears, moose, wolves and sled dogs. You feel like you are experiencing Alaska as you read. Dodge has been gone from home sometime. His father is hurt flying plane. So he comes home. He isn't prepared to run into Echo who turned him down when he asked her to marry him. Her father ends up getting shot by poachers. Now I hope I got you wanting to read it. You will have a hard time stopping along way. I love all Susan Warrens books. This is a favorite ( )

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Five Stars ⭐⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️
Even thought Dodge Kingston is back on the ranch, and at the moment at the hospital to see his dad, he is sure his dad doesn't want to see him. That is, until the Dr tells his sister they can see their dad for a while, and she insisted he go in with her. But Dodge knows it will all blow up when his dad realizes he is home to stay until dad gets well enough to run the ranch again.
Sunrise by Susan May Warren doesn't really start off fast pace, but the more the story unfolds, the better this book gets. I really liked Dodge from the start, and I think it is because he was fighting so many demons of his past while being there, he couldn't see how his home people really thought of him. Maybe a lot of his issues are what will Echo's feeling about him coming home after 10 years. Their relationship is very complicated and it will take more than a few days to even come close to being fixed. More like a few years, maybe? The other characters in this unique and wonderful Alaskan town were a friendly bunch and always willing to help their neighbors.

Being set in Alaska, I love all of the snowing, and how they traveled, and the different rides they used. There were a lot of tension moments flying around throughout the story, and for different reasons. I found it hard to believe how even some of the ladies were OK and could survive alone in the wild dangerous and snowy mountains of Alaska. There are many twists and turns throughout the story, a few surprises, and a whole lot of action and enjoyable entertainment in this book, Sunrise. Susan May Warren does a fabulous job writing this awesome story. This was my first read from Warren in a while and I'll tell you, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm giving this one Five Stars, and it is worth so many more. If you enjoy a good ole clean romantic suspense you are in for a real treat with this one. ( )

Ahh, Alaska, the big, cold wilderness where danger lurks around every bend. Dodge and Echo have their work cut out for them, fighting the elements, the wildlife, and their history with each other. But they rise to the challenge, with some bumps, bruises, and heartache along the way. ( )
