The Danny and the Dinosaur book series is always well received by children.....I remember the original from my childhood. My children really enjoy all of these books as well....other than the dinosaur lacking a real name, which drives my 7 yr old crazy lol!

These are wonderful books for younger readers....large print, limited wording, short stories, and fun colorful illustrations....this is " An I can read book " done right.

In this one Danny decides the dinosaur should go to camp with him.....all turned out well, and the children at camp loved having him, except for his hogging the ketchup! lol!
Ok. Not amazing. Good for what it is, am early reader for early readers
I do believe these books are more fun for children than adults. I remember reading some of them as a child and thinking it would be cool to have a huge friend. Camp is a pretty good fit; the dinosaur was able to have some real fun and not detract from the other children's experience.
Aside from a ketchup shortage nothing goes wrong and a dinosaur might even be an asset at camp. Who knew?
Danny and the Dinosaur are such a great pair of friends!!! Danny takes his dinosaur EVERYWHERE...including Camp. This is a wonderful story full of friendship & fun. =)
Cute story about having a pet dinosaur. Simple but bright illustrations, overall a very fun book.
Danny and the Dinosaur Go To Camp by Syd Hoff
Audio book about Danny went to camp with his friend the dinosaur for the summer.
Book tells all about the different things they can do: racing, football, rowing the boat,
and then they had lunch. Funny things happen because the dinosaur is there, too funny!
Letters home are just perfect! Other camp things happen to make it a perfect day at camp.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

Sydney Hoff, a well-known cartoonist, author, and illustrator of books for children and young adults, was born in 1912 New York City and raised in the Bronx. His young adult novel, Irving and Me, was named one of the 10 best books for children by the New York Times. Hoff first became interested in drawing as a child. Although he dropped out of show more public school, he later attended the National Academy of Design in New York City, where he studied to become a serious painter. However, at the age of 18 he sold his first cartoon to The New Yorker; this launched his career as a cartoonist. Hoff has also drawn cartoon advertisements for CBS and has written short mysteries for popular mystery magazines. One of his earliest and most enduringly popular works is Danny and the Dinosaur, published in 1958. He wrote this book to entertain one of his daughters who was sick. Hoff's audience is, for the most part, the young child who likes clear illustrations, friendly animals, and a limited text. Hoff died of pneumonia on May 12, 2004 in Miami, Florida. He and his wife, Dora, had two children. (Bowker Author Biography) show less
