Une amie m’a proposé ce livre. Intéressé aux idées du bouddhisme par un podcast avec Mathieu Ricard, j’ai accepté.
Apparemment il fait partie d’une série qui présente une approche originale : le narrateur est le chat du Dalaï Lama. Observer les situations par les yeux d’une chatte ajoute une touche d’humour réussie. On suit une série d’événements qui se déroulent dans l’Himalaya entre des sages et d’autres personnes plus ou moins « illuminées ». Ces événements servent à illustrer les principes du bouddhisme. Cela respire la bienveillance et le respect de l’autre, une façon plus positive de voir la vie et surtout les interactions sociales. J’ai trouvé que le côté didactique était parfois show more imperceptible ou secondaire et parfois l’auteur nous assène une théorie très difficile à appréhender, émaillée de mots en sanskrit qu’on n’a pas expliqué avant (mais il y a un lexique à la fin). Je dirais qu’il faut soit lire ça comme une jolie histoire, soit voir ce livre comme une initiation au bouddhisme, mais, dans ce cas, il faut sans doute commencer la série par le début. show less
