This graphic novel series is full of gentle action/adventure stories with a big emphasis on friendship.

I sort of Iron Giant with mice and without any atmosphere or context. Young bullied mouse boy finds best friend in villain's refusenik robot and they defend each other. Some clever flip graphic for the final fight. ( )

Review/Critique: Ricky is a small mouse with no friends. He gets bullied a lot and keeps waiting for his big break. A mad scientist creates a robot that isn't very evil. When he tests it out it doesn't do what he wants so he starts punishing it, but Ricky steps in and stops the mad scientist from hurting the robot anymore. Because of this Ricky and the robot become best friends and solve each others problems. This book is Fanta you because robots don't exist and mice can't talk and do normal human things.

I get asked for these all the time but this is the first time I have read one. It was easy to read but still a "chapter" book which makes beginning readers super excited to read. Ricky has been bullied and needs someone BIG to help him. Who better than the Dr. Stinky's robot....who instead of destroying the city makes a friend!

We like a good underdog story so we love Ricky Ricotta. Of course, anything with robots is awesome. ( )
