Assignment for Children's Lit (non-fiction):
Hampton provides personal stories of experiences on September 11, 2001. Black-and-white images truthfully reveal what happened that day - and are allowed to speak for themselves. Hampton shows readers the pain, fear, and questioning that filled America without hitting readers over the head. This is a good tool for young readers to learn a small bit of what September 11 entailed.
