Roman's Heart

This is almost a very good book. I like amnesia stories (though why every amnesiac must be convinced that he or she is a criminal...sigh), and this one has some neat twists (though I wish she hadn't told us ahead of time what really happened - before Daisy knew). Just - the whole book could have used another editing pass or two. There's awkward dialog and description, there's places where they do something for no visible reason except that it's necessary to set up the next event in the (practically visible) outline...the whole thing feels rather rushed, like she had to get it out ahead of a deadline. There's an excellent story in there, but I have to dig for it and ignore a lot of clumsiness piled on top. Makes it hard to judge the show more story when the writing's getting in the way. show less

Second book in the Justice Way series. I liked the first half of the book where she hides in the hero's cabin and they are falling in love even though they don't know who she is better than the second half where they are trying to trap the bad guy into confessing. The relationship between the hero and heroine is pretty strong and is the best part of the book. Well written as always from Ms. Sala.

PI-amnesiac romance. Sweet, fast read.
