Whenever Master Roshi goes beastmode and becomes temporarily mega-buff in order to lay down some serious martial arts on Goku, I am instantly on the edge of my seat. The Kamehameha is such a cool power, very theatrical, (with a completely nonsensical name!) I get so excited whenever Roshi or Goku whips it out. The dramatic build up of the move is such an effective way to raise tension before an explosion of force, and it hasn't just become another beam thingy that characters throw at each other later in the series.

Very sick tournament arc! Cannot wait for further adventures and future tournament arcs! The Tenkaichi Budokai, whenever it happens, is usually one of my favourite parts of the series, so I cannot wait for the second show more tournament arc, because if memory serves, that one might be even better than the first one! show less
The tournament arc concludes in this volume. There's still plenty of great art, but the final fight drags on a bit, and overall I liked this volume a bit less that the previous one.

With the end of the training/tournament arc, I'm hoping that the story jumps off the rails a bit and gets a bit more adventurous. It seems to be heading in that direction based on the end of the last volume.
