3.5 I wanted to love this book and in a way I did. I loved it for menu planning. I made 8 recipes out of this book so far, dishes I knew well from several different sources. I found all of them to be missing one or two ingredients (vegan) simple ones like vinegar or sesame oil that would complete the sauce. One recipe had great flavor but was swimming in oil, The Superior Instant Noodles. Five out of five tasting it said the same thing, cut the oil amount in half and maybe double the noodle amount, it was that oily. The oyster and fish sauce, again lacked 1-2 ingredients to make them great. Every recipe I made needed to be added to, except the udon noodle recipe and the kimchi. I believe that was the only noodle recipe in this for you to make at home, which was sad noodle are easy to make and taste so much better than store bought.
How would I use this book ? I'd use it as a meal planner. I liked all the dishes just not the recipes as much. I got online searched known cooks recipes and wrote them in my notes. I'll continue to do so for the rest of the book. The photos were lovely the dishes picked wonderful. ( )
