Lorant was a Hungarian journalist imprisoned for telling the truth about Hitler's Germany before WW II. It is a sad commentary on the present (2005) state of nations that his story now seems quite mild compared with what goes on not only in contemporary dictatorships but in so-called democracies. ( )
