The sequel to Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg, the fairies must now save their home from a vengeful mermaid who is threatening to flood Fairy Haven unless she gets a wand. The story seems a bit more fleshed out this time around, but stills seems a little rushed and contrived, but given that this is geared toward children, I don't see it as being a problem. There are important lessons taught in this book about greed and rash judgments. David Christiana's illustrations are gorgeous as usual. A decent follow-up story that can stand on it's own as well.
Better than I expected. Sure the little girls will like the cute pictures, but when big kids read these they'll see good role models having exciting adventures and dealing with issues such as courage, honesty, free will, friendship, and love.
I am sort of upset that I didn't like this adventure. It's just if you have read my review of Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg you would know why I like the Disney Fairies. They just seem comfortable with themselves. In this book it was all about the fairies having magic wand madness that made them want to wish for what they wanted. Of course things go bad when they get what they want. It is a story that gets told a lot. Yes, Yes, be careful what you wish for. I know this story very well. I guess I am disappointed because I don't think the fairies needed this story. Couldn't the wand have done something else besides grant wishes. And then again poor Rani has yet another accident. The first book she cuts off her wings. This book she show more gets turned into a bat and the bat has it's own essence. It is esscentually it's it own person or own bat with Rani stuck inside. Neither one wants to not exist. They work it out eventually sort of... I am thinking there is going to be a whole book about that. show less
This really was not that enjoyable for me or for my daughter. I was super annoyed by the weird conversations when they would finish the other person's sentences. It didn't read well for me at all. I'm fairly familiar with the different fairies, so that helped a little, but the writing was a flop for me.
It was different to listen to a book on tape. I had a hard time getting into it at first but after awhile it was like any other book that i read and I wanted to know what was going to happen.
wants to keep you going filled with fantsy fun, I learned that there is big big fairys and little little fairys.
