Eight going on nine, Rose Wilder is beginning to settle into her new life in Missouri, the Land of the Big Red Apple. Her father is building their farmhouse and she dreams of the day they'll have their own bright crop to harvest. But before that can happen, she has a fierce ice storm to contend with and her first real Christmas in the Ozarks to enjoy.

Have the complete series sitting on my shelf but haven't read these since my teen years--started to lose track of all the authors doing series not just on Laura's daughter but also on her mother, grandmother, maybe even further back? Quite a franchise! ( )

Definitely a rip-off. But a more acceptable one than the watered down intermediate and beginners version that they have now reduced them to. ( )
